Ian McKone is a musician based in his native North East England. He plays and sings everything from early music to pop and rock to  traditional folk on a variety of bowed, fretted and squeezy instruments. He is one half of The Ran Tanners and runs workshops for singing, guitar and ukulele.

    Durham's long running uke group! Sessions are based at Elvet Methodists Church Durham on Tuesday evenings between 6.30pm and 8pm. Friendly and fun, come and sing and strum! The Summer term starts on the 27th of April!

    The Ran Tannners

    The Ran Tanners are a pair of roving miscreants who (when not doing hard labour in chokey or dodging the pressgang), present the  traditional music of Georgian and Victorian England using Fiddles, Bagpipes and Squeezeboxes. They are equally at home giving concerts to Crowned Heads or entertaining in Low Dives. They have been asked back by Beamish Museum and English Heritage on many occasions and have promised not to steal the silver.
